Mr. Justice (Retd) Shafi ur Rehman was born in February 1929. Acquired Masters Degree in Political Science in 1950 and completed his LLB in 1951. He joined Civil Service of Pakistan in 1951 and held various prestigious posts during his career. He joined Judicial Service in 1959 and was elevated as a Judge of High Court in 1969. He joined Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1979 and retired in 1994. He remained Acting Wafaqi Mohtasib in 1983, 1984 and 1987 respectively. Mr. Justice (Retd) Shafi ur Rehman remained member, Syndicate, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad; Law Commission; International Islamic University; as well as Chairman, Central Zakat Council; Chairman, Eradication of Corruption; etc. He was conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz for his meritorious services in the field of Human Rights.
