Complaints to Children’s Complaint Office
You can complain to the Ombudsman for Children if:
-
You are under 18 and you feel an action by a government / public organization, school or hospital has treated you unfairly; or
-
You are an adult who wants to complain for a child under 18 because you think that the child was badly affected by an action or inaction by a public organization, school or hospital. If you are not the child’s parent, we will have to let them know about the complaint.
What can I complain about?
The Children Complaint Office can investigate a complaint when an action or inaction has had an adverse effect on a child and it was:
- Taken without proper authority;
- The result of negligence or carelessness;
- Based on wrong and incomplete information;
- Based on discrimination;
- Based on bad management practice.
